Port Newark Container Terminal (PNCT) located in Port Newark, New Jersey occupies 272 acres, currently handling more than 1.3 million TEU's.
PNCT secured a long-term extension of its lease agreement with the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey through 2050.
PNCT's total expansion will add 1.0 million TEU's of capacity,
effectively adding an additional terminal to the Port of NY/NJ.
Port Newark Container Terminal (PNCT) is one of the only Container Ports in the World to use part of its active operational footprint (10 acres) that provides a dual purpose, in-terminal solar energy generation by using elevated photovoltaic solar panel canopies. PNCT anticipates this ambitious 7.2 MegaWatt solar initiative project will supply up to 50% of the terminal’s annual electrical demand with renewable energy.
